NEWS - We have recently moved to the Serenia IRC network. If you connect using an IRC client and not the Java applet, please alter your settings to connect to chat.serenia.net (see also full instructions below). We have also improved the chat Java applet, which now loads much faster than before! IMPORTANT - The SAUK chat rooms are run independently of the website, by fellow sufferers of social anxiety. They do not offer professional support. If you need professional help or advice, please see a doctor. The rooms are intended as an environment for SA sufferers to socialise, in addition to on-topic social anxiety chatting. Please bear this disclaimer in mind when using the chatrooms. SAUK Social Anxiety On-Topic Chat Room - chat about specific SA related problems, overcoming SA, etc. A friendly, welcoming room to get and give support in. A great place to start chatting! *Please note that none of us are experts, we are fellow SA sufferers in the same boat as you. As such we do not offer professional advice, please see your GP if you need this. The Lounge - General Off-Topic Chat Room - an off-topic room for general chat and socialising with other SA sufferers. This room has a more pub-like, perhaps even raucous environment. No holds barred here in terms of subjects up for discussion, so some chat may offend - please be aware of this before entering! Accessing the chatrooms The above links open the chatroom in a new window in your browser, while the site remains in this window. The java applet may take a while to load, depending on your connection speed. To start chatting, simply choose a nickname, click on "Connect", and once the chatroom appears you can start chatting! There are several other ways of accessing our rooms, which are hosted on IRC.
